Join me to enjoy an unforgettable, unique experience in Japan. Next spring – March 21 through March 31st, 2013 – I am leading once in a life time Culinary Tour to Japan. Japan offers rich multifaceted culture which is a distinctive blend of tradition and modernity. This tour focuses on the food and culinary culture of the country. It includes a visit to a world famous Tsukiji Fish Market with a traditional market-workers 8 AM sushi breakfast (their dinner!) at the fish market, cooking classes, shopping for cooking knives and other unique useful kitchen equipment, a visit to a Japanese knife maker’s traditional workshop, several local food markets, and a class in which you will make Japanese sweets. You will enjoy a classic tea ceremony experience, and visit a sake brewery. The tour also highlights the cultural background in which the foods and dining experience of Japan have developed. You will encounter world famous old temples and shrines and a renowned World Heritage Village deep in the beautiful mountainous countryside. During the tour you will enjoy all levels of Japanese dining from casual but uniquely Japanese, including yakitori restaurant which I blogged, to a formal multi-course kaiseki meal.
I will be adding more detailed tour information in September!
