Ramen & Gyoza

Instructor: Hiroko Shimbo, chef-consultant for restaurants and food companies, trained sushi chef, cookbook author, writer, blogger, and instructor based in New York City. She is considered an authority on Japanese cuisine worldwide.

In a bowl of noodle soup there is a drama. Every item in the bowl, from broth to noodles, simmered pork, boiled egg, scallions and nori seaweed, is prepared to the stage of perfection by experienced and detailed-oriented chefs. Bowls of ramen noodles, cherished by the Japanese, are taking over America, showing up on trendy menus from coast to coast. Instructor Hiroko Shimbo will clearly demonstrate everything that you need to know to easily master all the techniques of preparing perfect, delicious ramen noodles at home. The frequent accompaniment to ramen is a plate of delicious Japanese pot sticker dumpling, gyoza, so Hiroko will show you how to prepare those, too. 6:30pm-9pm.
